Depicted in the corners of the quilt board are the original lightning rods still installed on the early 1900s barn, which once stored the apples and tomatoes previously grown on the land. At one time the barn housed leghorn chickens on all three floors. Puss in the corner quilt pattern also relates to the present owner’s fondness for cats.
